We got tired of cold lunches

HotBite started with a simple, annoying problem: you cook a proper meal at home, pack it, and by 1pm you're eating it cold at a desk, in a bakkie, or standing on a site with no kitchen in sight.

Why HotBite exists

Microwaves are a luxury most working South Africans don't have on hand. Queues at the office kitchen, no plug points on site, load shedding at the worst time of day — the result is the same. You either buy takeaways you can't afford, or you eat something cold and sad.

The ThermoLunch fixes that with the least amount of fuss possible: a lunch box that heats itself. Plug it into a wall socket or your car's 12V, wait while you finish an email or a delivery run, and eat a hot meal.

Who it's for

• Office workers who don't want to queue for the one microwave on the floor.
• Drivers, couriers and taxi operators who live in their vehicle during the day.
• Site workers, security staff and nurses on shifts where the canteen is closed.
• Students and anyone budgeting who would rather eat home food than spend R90 on lunch.

How we work

One product, done properly. We hold local stock, dispatch in 0–2 business days, and answer WhatsApp ourselves. If it breaks through normal use inside 12 months, we replace it.
